Dear Colin, is adjusting the gain settings the only method to minimise quantization error by the oadc?

There are no other settings that we see such as range .

Hello,

Yup - there is no range select on the input (per-say). The bonus feature of the OpenADC is a little jumper on it, you can set it to the ‘ADJ’ position and there is then a potentiometer which allows you to adjust the VREF level of the OpenADC. This provides a small amount of additional adjustment range - I think the VREF can vary from something like 0.5V to 2.0V.
