Hello,
We were using the CW-Lite capture hardware for trace acquisition, and suddenly it is not getting recognized by the PC. We tried changing the USB cable, the operating system, and most other hacks that has been recommened. The red and the blue LEDs are ON suggesting that it is at bootloader state. We also tried shorting the ERASE pins with no results.
It seems that the device is broken. Is there any way to recover it?
It is almost certainly not broken.
Have you tried following the instructions here? In this case:
import chipwhisperer as cw
cw.program_sam_firmware(hardware_type='cwlite')
If this fails, what message do you get?
Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I tried this and also shorted the ERASE pin. The problem is the USB is not recognised by the PC. Tried with multiple PC and OSs. All of them says USB enumeration failed.
Are the red and blue LEDs dimly lit? (blue is the “USB enumerated” one shown here, red is just above it).
On Linux, does lsusb show ID 03eb:6124 Atmel Corp. at91sam SAMBA bootloader?
Is there any relevant output in dmesg upon connecting the CW-lite?
No. We cannot see anything while connecting the device. The USB could not be enumerated.
Yes LEDs are dimly lit. We have tried with multiple USBs and PCs. Not using any hub, but directly connecting with PC.
Sorry for the delay, this slipped through the cracks.
Contact support@newae.com and we will arrange to get you a new one. Please specify exactly which version of the CW-lite you have (from the 4 options listed here), and include the serial number of the board (which you can find on the test sheet that came with your ChipWhisperer).
